BIOGRAF\u00cdA DE DANIEL TERRAGNO ROSHI<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Daniel Terragno Roshi naci\u00f3 en Santiago de Chile. A fines de los a\u00f1os 60 migr\u00f3 a San Francisco, California, para continuar con sus estudios de econom\u00eda, luego de haber aprobado el primer a\u00f1o de la carrera en Valpara\u00edso, Chile.<\/p>\n

Luego de unos a\u00f1os, descubri\u00f3 las ense\u00f1anzas de GI Gurdjieff, se pleg\u00f3 a uno de sus grupos y practic\u00f3 el Trabajo por casi veinte a\u00f1os. Durante estos a\u00f1os se traslad\u00f3 al condado de Sonoma, al norte de San Francisco, y comenz\u00f3 a trabajar como mueblista haciendo trabajos a pedido y cajoner\u00edas, con otros dos miembros del grupo Gurdjieff.\u00a0 En 1986 Daniel comenz\u00f3 a practicar meditaci\u00f3n, dej\u00f3 el grupo Gurdjieff y, eventualmente, en 1988 se pleg\u00f3 a la California Diamond Sangha en Santa Rosa, California. La Diamond Sangha es un linaje Soto Zen proveniente de Harada Roshi y Yasutani Roshi, fundadores del linaje Sambo Zen (antes Sambokyodan), que incluye elementos y pr\u00e1cticas de la tradici\u00f3n Rinzai. Daniel estudi\u00f3 y eventualmente lleg\u00f3 a ser heredero en el Dharma de John Tarrant Roshi. Actualmente vive en Sebastopol donde fund\u00f3 el Zendo Rocks and Clouds. Adem\u00e1s, es director espiritual de otros tres grupos de pr\u00e1ctica Zen. Viaja a Ohio dos veces al a\u00f1o para dirigir un sesshin para el grupo Zen del Yellow Springs Dharma Center. Viaja tambi\u00e9n dos veces al a\u00f1o a dirigir sendos sesshin en Zen Monta\u00f1as y Mar (Chile) y Zen Viento del Sur (Argentina). Adem\u00e1s, mantiene contacto semanal o quincenal con sus estudiantes remotos a trav\u00e9s de Skype y medios como Zoom.<\/p>\n

Daniel gusta de la m\u00fasica, lectura, arquitectura, pintura y poes\u00eda. Adem\u00e1s goza excursionando por los cerros dondequiera que est\u00e9n.<\/p>\n

BIOGRAPHY DANIEL TERRAGNO ROSHI<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Daniel Terragno Roshi was born in Santiago de Chile. In the late 1960s, he moved to San Francisco, California, to continue studying economics after approving his first college year in Valparaiso, Chile.<\/p>\n

After a few years, he discovered the ideas of G.I.Gurdjieff, joined a Gurdjieff group, and practiced the Work for almost twenty years. During these years he moved to Sonoma County, north of San Francisco, and started working as a woodworker making custom-made furniture and cabinets with two other members of the Gurdjieff group. In 1986 Daniel started practicing meditation, left the Gurdjieff group, and eventually in 1988 joined the California Diamond Sangha in Santa Rosa, California. The Diamond Sangha is a Soto Zen lineage coming from Harada Roshi and Yasutani Roshi, founders of Sambo Zen lineage (formerly Sambokyodan), which includes elements and practices of the Rinzai Zen tradition. Daniel studied and became a Dharma heir of John Tarrant Roshi. He started teaching as an Apprentice Teacher in 1995 and in 2001 received Dharma Transmission from John.<\/p>\n

Daniel has worked as a volunteer in hospice work, has taught Zen in prisons, and taught meditation to people in drug and alcohol recovery centers.<\/p>\n

Currently, Daniel lives in Sebastopol where he founded the Rocks & Clouds Zendo. In addition, he is the spiritual director of three other Zen groups. He travels to\u00a0 Ohio, twice a year to lead sesshin with the Zen group of the Yellow Springs Dharma Center. Twice a year Daniel also travels to Chile\u2019s Zen Monta\u00f1as y Mar, and Argentina\u2019s Zen Viento del Sur to lead a sesshin in each country. He maintains contact with his students away from California or the US weekly, or biweekly through Skype and other means like Zoom.<\/p>\n

Daniel is fond of music, reading, architecture, painting, and poetry. He also loves hiking on the hills wherever they might be.<\/p>\n
